About Us

It all begins with a seed.

Desert Flower Landscaping was created during the COVID19 pandemic by Malcolm Berce, an Adelaidian who had recently moved back from spending time living and landscaping in Byron Bay. It was a tumultuous time across the globe that saw the modern world slowing down. Difficulties in the modern system were revealed, but people also gained more family time and days to spend at home. This reminded us of the value in the humble Australian Backyard.

"No, we do not specialise in cacti.”

The name Desert Flower Landscaping may suggest that we are savannah specialists, but in fact, we love all styles of landscaping. To us the name symbolises the potential for something beautiful and bountiful to spring from anywhere.

Malcolm has been in the horticulture industry for 15 years with a background in landscape construction and a Diploma in Landscape Design and Horticulture. Throughout his career, Malcolm developed interests in sustainability and permaculture techniques, becoming inspired to incorporate these values into everyday backyards without compromising style and visual appeal. South Australia is a state infamous for its dry and hot temperament, but we are here to show you that it can be a flourishing environment if given the appropriate treatment.

At Desert Flower Landscaping we are passionate about turning your outdoor space into an area that reflects your values. We want you to make the most of the garden- whether it be an entertainment area or a place to watch the wildlife and enjoy a cup of tea..

The grass is greener at home.
